Filter Messages

Use filters to find messages in the Secure Messaging Inbox.

Filters Applied Indicator

The Filters Applied indicator is a quick way to see the filters applied to the Secure Messaging Inbox. Click Filters Applied. The system displays the active filters.

Note: The Filters Applied indicator is displayed only if filters are applied.

Filters - Options

If filters are collapsed, click Filters to expand. 


When you apply filters, the subset of messages that meet your filter criteria are displayed. The following are the Secure Messaging Inbox filter options: 

  • Patient Last Name: at a minimum, enter the beginning letter of the patient's last name

  • Patient First Name: at a minimum, enter the beginning letter of the patient's first name 

  • Patient DOB (Date of Birth): mm/dd/yyyy format  

  • To: message recipient

  • From: message sender

  • Subject: message subject

  • Received Date: Begin Date / End Date: message received between these two dates; mm/dd/yyyy format  

  • Status: New; Awaiting Info; In Progress; Action Required; Complete; Sent (press CTRL to select multiple) 

  • Type: secure message type (press CTRL to select multiple) 

Filters - Actions

  • Click Apply to apply filter selections to the Secure Messaging Inbox

  • Click Save to save filter selections as your Secure Messaging Inbox default for subsequent use

  • Click Clear to temporarily clear your filter selections (your selections will still be active when you return to the Secure Messaging Inbox)  

  • Click Clear followed by Save to permanently clear your saved filter selections
